Whitney Lovell is the Senior Manager of Growth Portfolio at REDF. Prior to this, they were a Consultant at Taproot Foundation, Chicago Program Manager at Taproot Foundation, Policy Aide at NARAL Pro-Choice America, State and Municipal Legislative Program Manager and Legal Coordinator at the Human Rights Campaign, and an Intern at the Democratic Party of Arkansas, Paschall Strategic, and Governor Bredesen of TN.
Whitney has always been passionate about social justice. Whitney got their start as an intern with the Democratic Party of Arkansas in 2010 and later interned with Governor Bredesen of TN. In 2011, they became aLegal Assistant with the Human Rights Campaign. The following year they were promoted to Legal Coordinator and then State and Municipal Legislative Program Manager. In 2015, they left the Human Rights Campaign to work as a Policy Aide at NARAL Pro-Choice America. Whitney's time at NARAL Pro-Choice America solidified their commitment to social justice work. In 2017, they returned to the Taproot Foundation first as a Consultant and then as Chicago Program Manager. In 2019, Whitney joined REDF as a Portfolio Manager. Whitney was promoted to Senior Manager of Growth Portfolio in 2021.
Whitney's experience with various organizations has given their a well-rounded skillset that they use to thrive in their current role. Whitney is a strong leader and advocate for social justice.
Whitney Lovell has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Politics from Hendrix College.
