John Yarham has a diverse work experience. John started their career as a Laboratory Technician at Newcastle University in 2006 and later worked as a Research Assistant in 2007. John then pursued a PhD at Newcastle University in the Mitochondrial Research Group, specializing in mitochondrial translation defects and identifying novel mutations. After completing their PhD, they worked as a Research Associate at Newcastle University, where they expanded on their PhD research and also served as a Laboratory Demonstrator, assisting with teaching practicals and marking coursework.

In 2014, John joined PwC as an Associate in the Technology Assurance and Advisory department, focusing on data assurance engagements and external audit support work. John later progressed to the role of Senior Associate, specializing in Data Analytics and Assurance and took on responsibilities related to data governance and assurance engagements.

In 2017, John joined Redgate Software as a Software Engineer and quickly advanced to the position of Technical Lead. Currently, they hold the role of Lead Software Engineer at Redgate Software.

John Yarham earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mitochondrial Disease and Genetics from Newcastle University between 2009 and 2012. John also attended Norwich School, where they obtained AS Levels, A2 Levels, and GCSEs between 1996 and 2005.
