Ian A. Hood

Ian A. Hood, P. Eng., is an accomplished technology and business strategist currently serving as CTO and Chief Strategist at Red Hat since November 2015, where responsibilities include leading innovative cloud-native solutions for the telecommunications industry. In addition to this role, Ian serves as Founder and Principal Analyst at BGK Analytics, focusing on technology and business strategy for various tech-related communities. Previous positions include Chief Architect for Cisco’s Service Provider Business, where Ian shaped the go-to-market strategy, and roles at Motorola, Mahi Networks, and Nortel Networks, where significant contributions were made to business and product strategies. Ian holds a B.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is pursuing an Executive Business Administration degree at the University of Southern California.
