Major Hayden is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in cloud technologies and open-source development. Currently serving as a Senior Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat since March 2018, Major focuses on continuous integration and testing for the Linux kernel, the creation of a cloud image delivery service, and enhancing the Red Hat Enterprise Linux customer experience. Major also contributes significantly to the Fedora Project as a developer and maintainer of over 170 packages, has held leadership roles in the Fedora Engineering Steering Committee, and participated in the Fedora Linux Board. Previous roles include Principal Architect and Chief Security Architect at Rackspace Technology, where Major developed features for OpenStack and led cybersecurity initiatives. Earlier experience includes positions at SecureTrust and American Medical Response. Major holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Texas at San Antonio and has served on the GIAC Advisory Board.
