Shannon Sneed has a diverse range of work experience in the field of volleyball. Starting in 1999, they served as a Club Volleyball Head Coach for Beach Cities Volleyball Club until 2009. From 2001 to 2010, they also participated as a Player in the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. In 2010, Shannon became a Club Volleyball Coach for Complete Athlete Inc. - TCA Volleyball Inc., and they later went on to become a High Performance Beach Volleyball Coach/Evaluator for USA Volleyball. In 2011, they became a Club Volleyball Head Coach at America Volleyball Academy (AVA) California, a position they held until March 2022. Additionally, Shannon held the role of Head Coach - Beach Volleyball at Bishop Montgomery High School from 2017 to 2018. Since 2020, Shannon has been a Beach Volleyball Coach for the Redondo Beach Unified School District, leading the team to impressive finishes in various championships. Alongside their coaching roles, they also served as a Recreation Coordinator for the City of Redondo Beach since 1991, managing various programs and facilities.
Shannon Sneed holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership with a field of study in Public Administration from California State University-Dominguez Hills, which they earned from 2021 to 2024. During their time at Arizona State University from 1987 to 1988, they pursued studies in Engineering and Architecture, although they did not obtain a degree from there. Shannon also attended Dobson High School from 1983 to 1985, though the field of study and degree obtained during that period are not specified.
Additionally, Shannon Sneed has obtained several certifications. In 2013, they received certifications from USA VOLLEYBALL in Beach CAP I, Beach IMPACT, Indoor IMPACT, Beach CAP II, and Safe Sport. In 2022, they obtained an American Heart AED/CPR certification from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association.
