Craig Nelson

Craig Nelson has over 20 years of work experience in the field of data engineering and solution architecture. Craig is currently employed at Redpanda Data as a Solution Engineer. Prior to this, they worked at Cloudera as a Solution Engineer, where they led customer requirements gathering sessions and recommended solutions based on the Cloudera stack. Before Cloudera, Craig worked at ClearScale as an AWS Solution Architect, driving requirements gathering sessions and specializing in data strategy initiatives. Craig also worked at Brierley, where they held various roles such as Principal Solution Architect, Principal Data Architect, and Data Warehouse Architect. At Brierley, Craig managed teams, completed initiatives, and designed client reporting environments. Craig started their career at Transplace as a Senior Data Warehouse Developer. Overall, Craig has a diverse background in data engineering, solution architecture, and cloud computing.

Craig Nelson attended Eastern Illinois University from 1993 to 1997, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physics. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), including the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification in October 2020, and the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification in April 2020 and March 2020.
