Gary Hughes

Gary Hughes is a seasoned professional in the mining industry with extensive experience spanning several decades. Currently serving as Senior Vice President at REDPATH MINING since October 2021 and as Director and Owner of Mine Smart B.V. since January 2020, Gary has held numerous prestigious positions, including various presidential roles at Sandvik from 1994 to 2019, where responsibilities included global sales and mining operations across Latin America and Africa. Earlier in their career, Gary was a Marketing Director at Bateman Mining Equipment and a Sales Manager at Eimco South Africa, starting as a Mining Engineer at ZCCM INVESTMENTS HOLDINGS PLC from 1979 to 1987. Educational foundations include a diploma in Mining and Mineral Engineering from Camborne School of Mines and prior studies at Falcon College in Zimbabwe and Wellington School in England.
