Frans Smit

Frans Smit has a diverse work experience in the IT industry. Frans started their career as a Developer at Infor:COM in February 1998 and worked there until September 2000. Frans then moved to Netelek (Pty) Ltd and served as an IT Manager from October 2000 to May 2007. In June 2007, Frans joined Redstor as a Senior Software Engineer and has since gained over 10 years of experience in the cloud and data protection management industry. At Redstor, they worked on the implementation and running of their software and was responsible for various successful projects, including the development of the Redstor Full System Recovery and the engineering of the backend for the new remote client tunnel feature.

Frans Smit attended HTS Bellville from 1983 to 1987 and obtained a Matriculation degree. Following this, they enrolled at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology from 1990 to 1992 and completed a ND Computer Data Processing degree in the field of Computer and Information Sciences. Frans also obtained additional certifications, including Exam 533: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions and MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional, from Microsoft in February 2015.
