Thomas L. Friend

Principal at REDW

Tom Friend has spent his entire career providing audit and accounting services to tribal and public government clients. He has been instrumental in building REDW’s government practice. A Principal in REDW’s Phoenix office, he is an expert in accounting and financial reporting for governmental entities, and specializes in financial statement audits, compliance audits under the Uniform Guidance, and training.

Tom is one of REDW’s most experienced auditors of tribes and their enterprises, including governmental departments, economic development corporations, and casinos. He has served tribal clients for more than 25 years and is dedicated to bringing high-quality, high-value financial services to Native American communities.

Tom also brings a wealth of experience as an engagement principal for audit and consulting projects for large government agencies, municipalities, counties, community colleges, and school districts. He has served the audit needs of clients in a variety of industries, including hospitality, agricultural and farming operations, retail, and construction. He also has experience performing investigative and analysis assistance to buyers for the acquisition of multi-million dollar property interests.

Tom is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants.
