David Reed

Florida Spaceport Operations Director at Redwire Space

David Reed has a diverse work experience in the aerospace industry. David currently serves as the Florida Spaceport Operations Director at Redwire Space since November 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Techshot, Inc. as the Florida Operations Director from October 2019 to November 2021, and as the Launch Operations Director from October 2015 to October 2019.

David also has a significant tenure at NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, where they held various roles. From June 2015 to October 2015, they served as the Chief of Science Program Development and Payload Engineering Subject Matter Expert. Before that, they were the Payload Engineering Lead from March 2011 to June 2015, the Lead Payload Engineer from March 2002 to February 2011, and a Payload Engineer from October 1996 to March 2002. David started their career at NASA as a Science Support Specialist from September 1995 to October 1996.

David's earlier work experience includes being an Assistant Patent Examiner at USPTO from September 1994 to September 1995, and a Mission Analyst/Program Engineer at NASA from October 1991 to September 1994.

David Reed earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University in 1990. Prior to that, they attended Woodbury High School from 1982 to 1986. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Biochemical Engineering at the University of Virginia from 1990 to 1991.
