Bob Flannery

Mr. Flannery serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Redwood Capital Group and President of Redwood Residential. Bob leads all aspects of the firm’s operating activities, including property management, asset management, construction management, accounting, financial reporting and corporate office activities. He also serves on the Investment Committee and collaborates across the company to foster long-term strategic growth and profitability.

Bob is a seasoned real estate professional with proven experience leading multi-billion dollar, vertically integrated investment and development organizations. He brings over 25 years of experience in executive leadership, strategic planning, investment management, joint ventures and capital raising to Redwood Capital Group. He has broad knowledge of multifamily, office and retail asset classes with demonstrated success in asset management, acquisitions, finance and property management.

Most recently, Bob was President of CA Residential, the multifamily development platform of CA Ventures. As President, he built a team of professionals with diverse expertise for a $3 billion national platform of Class A assets in major growth markets across the U.S. Prior to his promotion to President, Bob was Chief Operating Officer at CA and focused on strategic growth and best practices across the firm’s $10 billion portfolio.

Bob previously served as Chief Operating Officer at JRG Capital Partners and as Partner and Chief Financial Officer at Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty. He has worked for many of the industry’s top firms, including Prudential Insurance, JP Morgan Chase and Sam Zell’s Equity Office. During his career, Bob has been involved in over $5 billion in transactions and has managed portfolios across the United States.

Bob is executive advisor and board member to several privately held real estate investment firms and proptech firms. He is also an Executive Council member at Cara, a workforce development and poverty alleviation non-profit based in Chicago, Illinois. Bob holds a BS in Finance from Northern Illinois University, an MBA in International Business from Wayne State University, is an Illinois Licensed Managing Broker and maintains dual citizenship with a European Union passport.
