Elizabeth Burks is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in planning and energy management. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Redwood Coast Energy Authority since January 2025, Burks previously held the same title at Humboldt County Association of Governments from January 2021 to January 2025. Prior to these roles, Burks worked at LACO Associates from May 2013 to December 2020, advancing through several positions including Planning Principal, Planning Director, Planning Manager, and Senior Planner. Earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Planner at Humboldt County Planning from April 2005 to May 2013 and as a Peace Corps Volunteer from September 2002 to September 2004. Burks earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Planning from Humboldt State University between 1997 and 2002.
