Dean Watson

Dean Watson has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Dean most recently worked as a Mulesoft Developer at Redwood Credit Union starting from 2018. From 2008 to 2019, they worked at Blue Shield of California as a Senior SOA/ESB Architect, where they were responsible for architecting the Information as a Service (IaaS) strategy and drafting the SOA Reference Architecture. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2008, Dean worked at Kaiser as a Software Architect, leading a team of developers and contributing to the development of service-oriented architecture (SOA). In 2002, they worked as a Consultant at DataSkill/Strata Corp, where they served as an architect and designer for multiple platforms. Dean started their career in 1999 at Registry Systems, Inc as a Principal Software Developer, overseeing the development of products for the financial service industry and designing database server components.

Dean Watson holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Telecommunication Management from Golden Gate University, which they attended from 1995 to 1997. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer and Information Sciences from Sonoma State University, where they studied from 1985 to 1987. In addition to their formal education, Dean has obtained several certifications from Coursera, including API Design and Fundamentals of Google Cloud's Apigee API Platform (with Honors), Exploratory Data Analysis, Getting and Cleaning Data, R Programming, and The Data Scientist's Toolbox. These certifications were completed between January 2018 and August 2018.
