Mark Bernfield

Mark Bernfield is a seasoned music educator and director with extensive experience in both teaching and community engagement. Since August 2007, Mark has served as a Middle School Music Teacher at Redwood Day School, where responsibilities include teaching General Music to grades 6-8, directing the Redwood Day Jazz Band and multiple rock bands, as well as overseeing the annual musical theater production and advising 8th graders. In addition, Mark has been the Music Director of East Bay Harmony Chorus since June 2001, leading an inclusive a cappella group that fosters community through singing. Mark also offers private drum lessons to students of all ages and skill levels and has a background in systems administration, having worked as a Senior Systems Administrator at Renovis, Inc. and as a Systems Administrator at Exelixis, Inc. Mark's educational background includes a BA in Music from UC San Diego and attendance at Berklee College of Music.
