Philip Richards

Philip Richards has over 30 years of work experience in software development and programming. Philip currently serves as a Senior Software Developer at Redwood Technologies since 2019. From 2001 to 2019, they held the position of Senior Software Developer at Weston Digital Technologies Ltd, where they led the development of Symphony™, a real-time digital recording system. Philip also worked at International Computers Limited (Pathway Cryptography Team) from 1999 to 2001 as a Designer/Implementer, contributing to the cryptographic key management component of the Post Office Counters retail system. At Legal & General in 1998, they worked as a Programmer, focusing on developing portable software modules. Philip gained significant experience at International Computers Limited (Defence) from 1993 to 1998 as a Designer/Implementer, where they designed and developed authentication mechanisms and database components for a secure software distribution system for the Ministry of Defence. Philip started their career at ITNet Limited in 1993 as an Analyst Programmer and worked at International Computers Limited (Local Government) as an Analyst Programmer the same year. Prior to that, they served as a Team Leader/Senior Analyst Programmer at Saunders Jefferies Limited from 1992 to 1993. At International Computers Limited (Health Systems) from 1990 to 1992, Philip worked as an Application Consultant/Analyst Programmer, collaborating with the National Health Service on enhancing existing healthcare systems. Lastly, they were a Project Leader/Analyst Programmer at Chubb Alarms Limited from 1989 to 1990, where they set up a new IT department and coordinated the customization of a service management system.

Philip Richards attended Rhydyfelin Technical College from 1981 to 1982, where they obtained a degree in Information Technology. Prior to that, they attended Llanrumney High School from 1973 to 1980, but did not obtain any degree or field of study. Additionally, Philip also has several additional certifications from edX in various subjects, including Big Data Analysis with Apache Spark, Computation Structures - Part 1: Digital Circuits, Distributed Machine Learning with Apache Spark, Electronic Interfaces, Introduction to Apache Spark, and Introduction to R for Data Science.
