Daniel F.

Daniel F. has a diverse work experience that spans various legal roles and industries. Their most recent position is with Redwood Trust, Inc. where they serve as the SVP, Deputy General Counsel. In this role, they support all corporate business functions and handles a range of legal matters including data privacy, cybersecurity, commercial agreements, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. Prior to this, Daniel worked as an Associate General Counsel at Redwood Trust, where they provided legal counsel to a publicly traded mortgage REIT.

Before joining Redwood Trust, Daniel worked at Hamilton Zanze as Counsel, where they advised multiple organizations in the real estate and private equity space. Their responsibilities included handling transactional, litigation, and regulatory issues.

Daniel also has experience as an Associate at Latham & Watkins, where they worked on various legal matters. Daniel gained additional legal experience as a Judicial Law Clerk at the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

Early in their career, Daniel worked as a Judicial Extern at the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, where they researched and drafted bench memoranda and observed court proceedings. Daniel also served as a Summer Associate at Latham & Watkins and gained legal volunteer experience at the Eviction Defense Collaborative.

Daniel started their legal career as a Legal Assistant at The Estle Law Firm, where they drafted legal documents, negotiated with opposing counsel, and filed documents electronically.

Daniel F. obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Journalism from Northeastern University. Daniel later attended the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) where they earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree. In 2021, they obtained the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPPUS) certification from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals.
