David Black. Beng. Msc.

David Black, BEng. MSc., has extensive work experience in the automotive industry. David is currently the Director of Products at REE Automotive since February 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Senior Product Manager at REE Automotive from March 2021 to February 2023. Before joining REE Automotive, David worked at Polestar as a Senior Program Manager from May 2019 to March 2021. David also served as a Senior Programme Manager at Emerald Automotive (a Geely Group company) from October 2015 to May 2019. David's earlier experience includes working as a Programme Manager at Tata Motors from March 2008 to October 2015, and as a Project Manager at The London Taxi Company from June 2003 to March 2008. David also worked at TWR (Tom Wilkenshaw Racing) as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager from October 2000 to January 2003. Prior to that, David was associated with Jaguar Land Rover as a Principal Engineer Manufacturing Engineering from September 1992 to October 2000. David began their career at Land Rover, where they held various roles such as Vehicle Manufacturing Facilitator, Conformance Engineer, Machine Tool Repair Fitter, and Mechanical Engineer Apprentice from 1980 to 1992.

David Black's education history starts with their schooling at Park Hall School from 1976 to 1980. David then went on to attend Birmingham Polytechnic from 1986 to 1990, where they earned HND, HNC, and ONC qualifications in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Birmingham City University from 1990 to 1994. To further expand their knowledge, David pursued an MSc in Manufacturing Technology Management at The Open University from 1998 to 2000. Lastly, in 2006, they obtained a PRINCE 2 certification as a Registered Practitioner from the Office of Government Commerce. In 2010, David also achieved the Prince 2 Practitioner certification.
