Kaamil Walilay

Kaamil Walilay is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in thermal systems and powertrain engineering. Currently serving as Principal Engineer - Thermal at REE Automotive since November 2021, Kaamil has held multiple roles including Thermal Systems Lead Engineer and Cooling System Engineer. Prior to this, Kaamil worked at Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd from September 2017 to November 2021 as Senior Engineer - Powertrain Systems Cooling and Fuel Systems Engineer. Earlier experience includes leading a team at Bristol Electric Racing to design an electric powertrain for a Formula Student car, as well as internships at Aston Martin and Parker Hannifin, where foundational skills in manufacturing and quality assurance were developed. Kaamil holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol, earned between 2013 and 2017.
