Reece School
Kaitlin McGovern Masopust, MS. Ed., PD, NCSP, serves as the Positive Behavior Support Coordinator and School Psychologist/Counselor at Reece School since 2018. With extensive experience in psychology and counseling, Kaitlin completed a Clinical Internship at New York Behavioral Health and held positions as a Fee For Service MA Psychologist at AHRC New York City and School Psychologist at Cooke Center for Learning & Development. Educational qualifications include an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Buffalo, a PD and MS.Ed. in School Psychology from Fordham University, and a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Maryland. Prior roles include Assistant Special Education Teacher and multiple practicum positions in school psychology.
Reece School
The Reece School is one of the oldest non-profit special education elementary schools in New York City. It was founded in 1948 by Ellen S. Reece and was housed for nearly 60 years in the home she owned on East 93rd Street. The Reece School provides a highly academic elementary special education program for children who need more support than can be provided in a traditional public school setting. Reece students are academically capable but may be psychologically fragile or have issues impacting their ability to fully access their education in their current school placement. At Reece, children with speech/language impairments or who have emotional, learning or other disabilities are given high levels of academic, social and emotional support in a nurturing and well-structured environment.
