Matthew Packwood

Associate to the Dean of the Faculty at Reed College

Matthew Packwood has been working in the administrative and creative field of classical music for over two decades. Matthew began their career as an Associate Producer for WGBH, where they worked on the radio service Art of the States. In 2006, they transitioned to Producer and Board Officer for the same company. There, they were responsible for extensive research, programming, and production for radio and web. In addition to their creative work, they also managed the daily operations of the business, including budgets, partnerships, and more.

In their current position as Executive Administrative Coordinator to the Dean of the Faculty at Reed College, Matthew continues to use their skills in both administration and creativity. Matthew works closely with the Dean to coordinate and manage the schedules and workloads of the faculty. Matthew also oversees a number of special projects and initiatives within the Faculty. In addition to their work with Reed College, Matthew also remains active in the classical music community, serving as a liaison between professionals in the US and abroad.

Matthew Packwood's educational career includes studying at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Northwestern University, Harvard Extension School, and Northwest Film Center.

Matthew Packwood works with Tamara Metz - Associate Dean of the Faculty and Associate Professor of Political Science and Humanities, Katja Garloff - Department Chair, German, and Kristin Scheible - Department Chair, Religion (Spring). Matthew Packwood reports to Kathryn C. Oleson, Dean of the Faculty.
