Tom Clayton

Tom Clayton is currently an advisor at ReferralCandy, but they have plenty of experience in the art world. Tom was the general manager at Indigo Blue Art from 2008 to 2015. Their responsibilities included day-to-day operations, event management, and artist liaison.

In their role as general manager, Tom handled all monetary matters for the gallery. This included transactions, drafting contracts, applying for grants, and accounting. Tom also refined several business processes and streamlined the gallery’s expenses. In addition, Tom handled all HR matters such as payroll, absence policies, and IR8A. Tom also managed the company secretary in the preparation of documents such as annual reports, returns, and AGM/EGM minutes.

Tom coordinated all logistics for the gallery’s exhibitions, both at the gallery and at international exhibitions such as India Art Fair and Arts Singapore. This included managing shipment, supervising third party contractors, and curating shows.

Tom assisted the Director in managing the gallery’s relationship with artists. This involved contract negotiation, entertainment, and artwork selection for shows or consignment.

Tom Clayton has an accredited tax practitioner (income tax) credential from the Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals, and a degree in accounting and finance from Curtin University.
