Reform Club
The Reform Club is one of the most prestigious private members’ clubs in London with a long and fascinating history. It was originally founded in 1836 for the benefit of those who pledged support for the Great Reform Act of 1832 - a watershed moment in British political history. Over the years the Club has evolved from its radical beginnings and is now a prominent social club, no longer associated with any particular political party. It offers a lively social community within a building of outstanding architectural importance. J. M. Barrie, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Winston Churchill, E. M. Forster, Henry James, Lord Palmerston, William Makepeace Thackeray, Isambard Kingdom Brunel and H. G. Wells were all Reformers and we continue to attract exceptional people. The Club provides its membership with an elegant and tranquil setting – with Sir Charles Barry’s impressive architecture as its backdrop, this is a place to relax, entertain, socialise and be inspired.
