Emma Atherton is an experienced Advice Coordinator at Refugee Action, delivering casework and legal advocacy for asylum seekers, while also supervising volunteers and managing caseloads. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Immigration Caseworker at COMPASS IMMIGRATION LAW LTD, where independent conduct of private and asylum cases was undertaken under legal aid contracts. As a Development Worker for the Support for Wigan Arrivals Project, Emma organized programs, managed volunteers, and created casework documentation. Emma founded Women Together, providing support for female asylum seekers and refugees, and previously contributed to educational projects at Faiths4change. Emma has a BA (Hons) in Peace Studies from the University of Bradford and has held various roles in customer service settings early in the career.
