Layla-Kashmir Hussain currently serves as an Advocacy Officer at the Refugee and Migrant Forum of Essex & London and as a Public Policy New Voices Fellow at the Salzburg Global Seminar, both roles beginning in March 2024. Since January 2024, Layla-Kashmir has also been working as a Homeless Shelter Support Worker at DENS. Previously, from September 2021 to March 2024, Layla-Kashmir held the position of Policy and Campaigns Assistant at Mind, where responsibilities included conducting research and influencing policy related to mental health. Other notable positions include Power Hours Facilitator at Young Women's Trust in late 2023 and Policy and Public Affairs Intern at Barnardo's in mid-2020. Layla-Kashmir's early experience includes a role as a Media Researcher at Touchline in 2017 and several years as a Maths and English Tutor at Kumon UK. Layla-Kashmir holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Birmingham and completed A-Levels in Politics, Geography, and Sociology at St Albans Girls' School.
