William Palomo is an experienced professional in community engagement and program coordination, currently serving as a Youth Activities Coordinator at RefugeeOne since April 2024, where responsibilities include planning programs for refugee children and administering ESL tests. Prior to this role, William held positions as Program and Events Coordinator for Illinois Humanities, managing grants and community partnerships, and as Community Engagement Manager for UtahPresents, where program curation and budget management were key duties. Additional experience includes serving as Program Manager for Utah Humanities and Coordinator at Southern Utah University’s Center for Diversity and Inclusion, with a strong focus on events, community outreach, and diversity education. William's academic background includes a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry and a Master’s in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from Indiana University Bloomington.

As the largest resettlement agency in Chicago, RefugeeOne has welcomed more than 20,000 refugees through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program since 1982. RefugeeOne walks alongside refugees from the moment they land at O'Hare International Airport—welcoming them to Chicago and providing furnished apartments, English classes, job search support, mental health care, youth programming, and mentors to help them adjust to life in the U.S.
