Michel Gabaudan

Michel Gabaudan has extensive work experience in the field of refugee and humanitarian assistance. michel joined Refugees International in 2010 as President, leading the organization in its mission to protect and support refugees and displaced persons.

Prior to that, Gabaudan worked for UNHCR, where they held multiple roles. From 2006 to 2010, they served as the Regional Representative for the USA and the Caribbean, overseeing operations and coordination efforts in the region. Before that, they were the Regional Representative for China and Mongolia from 2004 to 2006, and for the Pacific from 2001 to 2004. During their time at UNHCR, Gabaudan also held the position of Head, Donor Relations and Resource Mobilization Service from 1998 to 2001.

michel'scareer in the refugee field started in 1995 when they became the Regional Representative for Mexico, Belize, Cuba, and Central America, where they actively contributed to the protection and assistance of refugees in the region.

With their extensive experience and leadership roles, Michel Gabaudan has made significant contributions to the field of refugee protection and humanitarian aid.

Michel Gabaudan pursued their education with a strong focus on the field of medicine. michel received their MD degree from the University of Bordeaux, where they studied from 1966 to 1975. Following this, they furthered their academic journey by enrolling at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London, where they achieved an Msc degree in Public Health between 1978 and 1979.
