Aarin J. is currently a Postdoctoral Scientist in Ophthalmology at Regeneron, focusing on the complement cleavage cascade's role in ophthalmological disorders, particularly geographic atrophy age-related macular degeneration (GA-AMD). Responsibilities include conducting in vitro, molecular, and animal studies to further understand complement biology in the eye. Previously, Aarin worked as a Science Policy Apprentice at Regeneron, analyzing the federal landscape on biosimilars and authoring policy briefs based on extensive research. Aarin earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Sciences with a focus on Genetics, Development and Disease from UT Southwestern Medical Center and holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Genetics from Purdue University. Aarin also has experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant investigating epigenetic links to obesity and Type 2 Diabetes and was a competitive NCAA Division 1 track and field athlete at Purdue University.
