Senior Flight Software Engineer at REGENT Craft

Evan Orenstein has been working in the aerospace industry since 2013. Evan began as a Research at NASA Langley Research Center in 2013 and then again in 2014. In 2014, they also started working at Boeing as a Scrum Master and Software Engineer. In 2018, they joined Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation as a Software Engineer and Team Lead. In this role, they lead a team designing and building autonomous flight software, and was responsible for customer interaction, risk assessment, system design, subsystem implementation, configuration management, release planning, sprint planning, resource allocation planning, and scheduling to meet the milestones of the program and customer requirements. Evan also lead the effort to introduce proper Agile methodologies to software teams. Currently, they are a Senior Flight Software Engineer at REGENT.

Evan Orenstein has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from Wofford College, which they obtained in 2014. Evan then went on to earn a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science with an emphasis in Artificial Intelligence from Washington University in St. Louis in 2018. In 2019, they obtained a Professional Certificate in Leadership Principles for Scientists, Engineers, and Researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Evan has also obtained several certifications, including a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) from the Project Management Institute in 2021, as well as seven other certifications from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 2019 and 2020.
