Alexander Bustamante is currently the SVP, Chief Compliance and Audit Officer at University of California. Alexander was previously the Inspector General at LAPD from November 2011 to August 2017, where they were in charge of providing independent oversight over all aspects of the Los Angeles Police Department’s operations and its approximately 12,000 employees. Before that, they were an Assistant US Attorney at the US Attorneys Office from January 2002 to November 2011, where they prosecuted complex, high-profile cases involving civil rights violations, organized crime groups and a variety of white collar crimes. Alexander also served as a Judge Advocate General in the U.S. Army JAG Corps from January 1998 to December 2001.
