Larry Carbone is an accomplished veterinarian and scholar with extensive experience in animal welfare and ethics. Currently self-employed as an author, Carbone is working on the book "Woodchuck Confidential" while also providing consulting and teaching services in welfare, ethics, and veterinary medicine. Carbone has served as the Veterinarian and Director of the Animal Care and Use Program office at the University of California since 2000 and was a speaker at the Animal Welfare Act at 50 Conference held at Harvard Law School in 2016. As a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine from 2006 to 2016, Carbone has contributed significantly to the field, supported by a DVM and PhD from Cornell University, where studies focused on veterinary medicine and the history and philosophy of science, specifically animal welfare policy.
