Augustine Udukumbura is a dedicated scholar currently pursuing dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Sociology and Gender Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, expected to graduate in June 2024. Udukumbura has actively engaged in various roles, including serving as a Scholarship Recipient at Regents Scholar Society and an Outreach Intern at OutWrite Newsmagazine. Previous experience includes internships at the UCLA LGBTQ Campus Resource Center and a Student Assistant position at Mt. San Antonio College, where Udukumbura held multiple roles across departments focused on pride, teacher preparation, and academic support. Udukumbura also earned multiple Associate of Arts degrees from Mt. San Antonio College, showcasing a strong foundation in Sociology, Psychology, Social Justice, and Social and Behavioral Sciences, following the completion of high school studies at John A. The Regents Scholar Society (RSS) at the University of California, Los Angeles offers membership to those who are awarded the Regents Scholarship - a merit-based scholarship that invites the top 1.5% of UCLA applicants, judged holistically, to apply each year. Our organization believes in upholding three pillars: scholarship, service, and leadership. Thus, we often give our members opportunities that align with these core values - we provide faculty mentorship, community giving campaigns, and leadership positions in our executive board. RSS is comprised of some of the brightest minds on campus - our organization spans over 40 different majors in the social sciences, humanities, physical sciences, and life sciences. Alumni of our organization can be found at top firms - Google, Bloomberg, Deloitte - and they can also be found in top graduate programs - medical schools, public health programs, and business schools. As a whole, RSS members are driven, responsible, intelligent, analytical, and most of all - passionate.
