Poul Michaelsen

Poul Michaelsen possesses extensive experience in healthcare management, currently serving as the Head of Corporate Management for the Central Denmark Region since February 2023. Prior roles include Chief Executive Officer at Regionshospitalet Gødstrup (2015-2023), Chief Operating Officer at South-West Jutland Hospital (2014-2015), and Head of Staff and Planning at Regional Hospital West Jutland (2009-2014). Michaelsen also held positions as Head of Primary Care Planning at the Department of Primary Health Care (2006-2009) and Health Planning Consultant at Ringkjøbing County (2005-2006). Early career experience includes serving as Junior Programme Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark (2003-2005) and Health Planning Officer at Ringkjøbing County (1996-2003). Poul Michaelsen holds a Master of Public Health from Aarhus University (2002) and an MSc in Political Science from the same institution (1996).
