Kate Slevin

Kate Slevin has a diverse work experience that spans over several organizations and roles. Kate is currently the Executive Vice President at the Regional Plan Association, a position they have held since July 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Vice President of State Programs and Advocacy at the same organization from March 2016 to January 2020. In addition, they briefly held the position of Director of Government and Community Affairs from April 2016 to August 2016. Before their time at the Regional Plan Association, Kate had a two-year stint as the Vice President of Policy and Planning at The Municipal Art Society of New York from March 2014 to March 2016. Kate also served as the Assistant Commissioner of Intergovernmental and Community Affairs at the New York City Department of Transportation from May 2012 to March 2014. Earlier in their career, Kate held various positions at the Tri-State Transportation Campaign, including Executive Director from 2007 to 2012, Associate Director from 2003 to 2007, and Communications Associate from 2002 to 2003. In addition, they worked as a Research Assistant at New York University's Institute for Civil Infrastructure Systems from June 2001 to 2002. Kate's early career includes roles at the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, where they were an Environmental Review Coordinator from 2000 to 2001 and an Urban Park Ranger from 1999 to 2000. Kate also had a summer internship as a Children's Garden Intern at Brooklyn Botanic Garden in 1998.

Kate Slevin completed their Bachelor's Degree in Earth and Environmental Science at Wesleyan University from 1995 to 1999. Kate then pursued a Master's Degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning at New York University from 2000 to 2002. Later, they obtained another Master's Degree in the same field of study from New York University. No specific start or end years were provided for their second Master's Degree.
