Roberto Barbera

Roberto Barbera is a Professor at the University of Catania since October 2005 and has extensive experience in research, serving as a Research Associate and System Responsible for the ALICE Experiment's Catania Tier-2 Centre at INFN since April 1985. Barbera holds multiple consulting and reviewing positions, including Manager dell'Innovazione at the Ministry of Economic Development, Senior Reviewer for the European Science Foundation, High Level Consultant for GIZ, and Reviewer for the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. Additionally, Barbera is a Scientific reviewer for the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research and serves on various boards and committees, including the National Computing and Networking Committee and the official roster of experts for Regione Siciliana. Barbera earned a PhD in Physics and an M.Sc. in Physics from the Università di Catania, contributing to significant advancements in research infrastructure projects and the coordination of Italian actions in the European Open Science Cloud.
