Saman Hamzeh

Saman Hamzeh is a seasoned data science professional with extensive experience in risk management and analytics, currently serving as Lead Data Scientist - SVP Risk Management at Regions Bank since April 2020. In this role, Saman leads the Ascentium Data Science and Analytics team, focusing on credit risk management for the Ascentium Capital portfolio. Previously, Saman contributed to the validation of a credit risk assessment model and managed infrastructure migration at Regions Bank, while at Ascentium Capital, Saman developed machine learning-based probability of default models. Earlier experience includes a data science internship at Soothsayer Analytics and various teaching roles at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where Saman also earned a Ph.D. in Operations Research. Additional educational credentials include a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Sharif University of Technology and a Bachelor's degree from Amirkabir University of Technology.
