Alec Litowitz

Alec Litowitz has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Alec is the Founder & CEO of Magnetar Capital since January 2005. In addition, they serve as a Director at Star Peak Corp II starting from January 2021. Alec was also a Former Director at Star Peak Energy Transition Corporation, starting from January 2020. Furthermore, they are the Founder & Managing Director of Reimagined Ventures since January 2016. Alec has also served as a Board Member at Black Opal Beauty since November 2019. Prior to these positions, they held the role of Principal & Global Head of Equities at Citadel LLC from February 1994 to April 2003. Alec began their career as an Investment Banking Associate at J.P. Morgan in August 1993.

Alec Litowitz obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Anthropology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1985 to 1989. Alec then pursued further education, completing both a JD and MBA at the University of Chicago from 1989 to 1993. In December 1993, they obtained certification as a Lawyer from the ARDC: Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois.
