Akiyo Marukawa

Akiyo Marukawa has a background in software engineering and frontend development. They started their career at NNE in 2012 as a Controls Engineer, where they upgraded process hardware and debugged logic for clients such as Novartis. At Genentech from 2015 to 2018, Akiyo modified purification process code and executed a relational database upgrade project. They then worked at Berkeley Lab as a Frontend Developer from 2018 to 2020, where they developed static pages and rebuilt user profile management using React. Akiyo's most recent position was at Four Twenty Seven, Inc. at Moody's, where they worked as a Frontend Developer, focusing on developing and maintaining a customer-facing climate risk data visualization web application.

Akiyo Marukawa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In 2017, they pursued a Full Stack Web Development program in Computer Software Engineering at UC Berkeley Extension. Akiyo also obtained additional certifications including the 6 Sigma DMAIC Green Belt from GE and a Full Stack Web Development certification from UC Berkeley Extension.
