Michael A. Rees, MD, PhD has an extensive and diverse education history. Michael A. received their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Chemistry, Biology, and Ethics from Hope College in 1985. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at the University of Michigan Medical School, graduating in 1991.

During their time at the University of Michigan Medical School, they also served as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Scholar at the National Institutes of Health from 1987 to 1989, gaining valuable research experience.
