Muhammad Shahzad

Muhammad Shahzad is the current Chief Financial Officer at Relativity Space. Prior to this, they held the same position at The Honest Company from January 2014 to December 2020. Muhammad has also served as Vice President of Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs from January 2009 to December 2014.

Shahzad has a long history of working in finance and accounting, with a focus on the consumer-focused technology and media sectors. Muhammad has extensive experience working with clients, senior bankers, internal product groups / departments, and external legal, tax and accounting advisors on issues such as strategy, tactics, structuring, valuation and financing. Muhammad has also managed teams developing financial models including pro forma accretion / dilution, discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout and comparable public market analyses to assess valuation, capital structure and potential transactions for a variety of business models / industries.

In 2012, Shahzad was promoted to Business Unit Manager for the U.S. West Region at Goldman Sachs, a role they held until 2013. In this position, they worked with Senior Partners on strategic planning, client targeting, budgeting and account reviews. Muhammad also led decisions regarding analyst and associate promotions and compensation; assessment, analysis and delivery of performance reviews; and allocation of resources across client accounts.

Shahzad holds a degree in Finance from the University of Southern California.

Muhammad Shahzad has a B.Sc. in Finance from The Wharton School and an MBA in Finance from UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Muhammad Shahzad reports to Tim Ellis, Co-Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Caryn Schenewerk - VP, Regulatory & Government Affairs, Jenna Kohnke Gaffney - Chief of Staff & Senior Director, Business Performance, and Zachary Dunn - SVP, Engineering & Manufacturing.
