Eric McEntee has over 30 years of work experience in the software engineering and IT fields. Eric began their career in 1987 as a Light Infantry Squad Leader in the Illinois Army National Guard. In 1990, they joined Motorola, Inc. as an IT Software Engineer II, where they were responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining group/sector applications. Eric was also EDI Coordinator and Distribution Manager in the Cellular Subscriber Group. In 2000, they worked as a Web Developer and Crossworlds Developer for SourceAlliance.com, developing Java based CrossWorlds middleware components and environments. In 2004, they became a Senior Software Engineer at Art.com, where they were the Lead engineer, designer, and team lead on multiple back end systems. In 2008, they worked as an Independent Contractor for Canvasondemand, developing software and system integration with third party order entry and management tools. In 2009, they joined Bandwidth.com as a Director of Software Engineering and Senior Manager of Software Engineering. In 2016, they moved to Republic Wireless as a Senior Director of Software Engineering, where they ran a team of engineers, managers, and an architect responsible for the back office system and integrations to external vendors. In 2021, they moved to Relay, a spin-off of Republic Wireless, continuing their role as Senior Director of Software Engineering with the same team and responsibilities.
Eric McEntee completed their Associate of Science in Science and Mathematics from College of Lake County in 1996. Eric then acquired their B.S. in Computer Science from DePaul University in 1999, followed by a Master of Science in Distributed Systems - Computer Science from the same institution in 2000. Prior to this, Eric attended the University of Illinois Chicago from 1988 to 1990. Additionally, Eric obtained a Certified Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance in February 2014.
