Elaine Kunda

Elaine Kunda is the Managing Partner at Disruption Ventures. She served as Chief Executive Officer, President and Group Publisher of B5media, Inc. In this position, Ms. Kunda oversaw all aspects of the network’s properties including The Grindstone, Crushable, Mommyish, Blisstree, The Gloss and Every Joe. A serial entrepreneur and veteran in the online media space, she has successfully built teams and realigned business strategies for over 10 years. She served as Chief Executive Officer of ZipLocal Inc since September 28, 2006 and served as its President. Prior to B5Media, she served as the Chief Executive Officer of Ziplocal which was sold to Canpages in 2009. She spent over six years at Toronto.com, Canada’s top online regional portal and started her online career in Business Development at Grey Interactive in 1998.

She has over 20 years of operating experience with a focus on digital and ecommerce. Ms. Kunda has raised VC money for multiple companies, built teams and had two successful exits in Canada and the United States. She has mentored, advised and supported entrepreneurs and CEOs for numerous years. A recognized expert in the digital media space, she has spoken at premier events such as DigiDay’s Digital Publishing Summit, Internet Week New York and the 2011 Marketing to Women Conference. Ms. Kunda’s other passions include athletics, travel and fashion. She served as Director of ZipLocal Inc until May 3, 2012.
