Jennifer Carolan is a Silicon Valley-based entrepreneur and investor. Jennifer is currently an advisor at Relay Ventures, and was previously a founding partner at Reach Capital. Jennifer also has served on the boards of several education technology companies, including Ellevation Education, Outschool, Nearpod, and FreshGrade.
Jennifer has been working in education technology for over a decade. Jennifer started their career as a teacher, before moving into educational software sales and then venture capital. In 2014, they co-founded EdSurge, a media and events company that covers the education technology industry. Jennifer served as a board member until 2020.
In addition to their work in education technology, Jennifer is also an active angel investor and mentor. Jennifer is a founding member of #Angels, an angel investing group focused on supporting women and minority entrepreneurs, and sits on the boards of several non-profit organizations.
Jennifer Carolan has a MA in Curriculum and Teacher Education from Stanford University and a BA in Political Science, Jennifer'story and Secondary Teaching Certificate from Loyola University Chicago.
