Jonathan Fischer has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Jonathan began their career as a PC/Mac User Support Specialist at the University of Pittsburgh, where they provided technical support and maintenance to staff and students. Jonathan then worked as a Contracted PC System Installer at Insight Global, assisting in setting up new computers for PNC Bank.

After that, Fischer joined The Pitt News as an Opinions Columnist, writing a column focused on introducing a professional perspective to students. Jonathan later joined UPMC, where they held various roles including Senior Systems Analyst, Operating Systems Engineer, and Senior PC Consultant. In these positions, they were involved in business analysis, system design, and providing technical support to the organization.

Fischer then transitioned to Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania as an Information Technology Instructor, conducting computer training and professional development classes. Jonathan also worked at the ARM Institute as the Director of Information Technology, where they were responsible for building the IT framework and overseeing cybersecurity requirements.

In 2022, Fischer became the Vice President of Technology at PCs for People, leading technology innovation and expanding internet access and device availability. Jonathan also served as a Mentor at OneValley, providing guidance to early-stage startups on IT solutions and technology challenges.

Most recently, Fischer joined Edge AI as a Technical Consultant and is currently working at ReliabilityFirst Corporation as the Manager of IT Infrastructure & Security. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing IT operations, infrastructure, and security throughout the organization, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovative technology solutions.

Jonathan Fischer earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh School of Computing and Information, from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Information Science at the same institution from 2007 to 2009. Jonathan also obtained an Associate of Science (AS) in Computer Networking Administration from the Community College of Allegheny County, where they studied from 2005 to 2007. In addition to their formal education, Jonathan obtained the CompTIA A+ ce certification from CompTIA in March 2017.
