Austin Chen

Austin Chen has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a Senior Software Engineer at Relyance AI since November 2021. Prior to that, they worked at AIH Technology from October 2019 to March 2022, where they held the position of Senior Software Engineer / Leader. At AIH Technology, Austin was responsible for designing and building a facial recognition system, implementing microservice architecture, and managing development infrastructure.

Before their time at AIH Technology, Austin worked at McAfee as a Senior Engineer from June 2016 to September 2019. Austin also had a role as a Team Lead at Kinetic Cafe Inc from June 2014 to June 2016, where they authored an E-Commerce mobile platform and coordinated with project managers for agile development practices.

Furthermore, Austin worked at UXP Systems as a Software Engineer/Team Lead from April 2011 to April 2014. Austin played a key role in developing the MINT User Lifecycle Management platform, which transformed user experiences for telecommunications operators.

Austin's early career includes co-op positions at CGI Group Inc, CIBC, BMO Capital Market, Hydro One Inc, and AMD, where they gained experience in software and database development.

Austin Chen attended the University of Waterloo from 2006 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in both Computer Engineering and Computer Software Engineering. In 2017, they obtained certifications in Neural Networks and Deep Learning from deeplearning.ai, as well as Machine Learning from Coursera.
