Omar Hafez

Omar Hafez is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in software development and technology leadership across various industries. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer at Remitly since June 2023, Omar previously worked at Amazon as a Senior Software Engineer focusing on Alexa and eCommerce Financial Integration. Prior to Amazon, Omar was a Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead at Bloomberg LP, where the focus was on client-facing Connectivity and Integration Solutions. Omar founded and operated MooMooForex, specializing in FX Trading tools, and has held technical roles at Credit Suisse, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Honeywell, and AutumnCare, contributing to significant projects in electronic trading platforms, data management systems, and care management solutions. Omar holds a Bachelor of Computer Science and Mathematics from The University of Western Australia and a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Finance from CUHK Business School.
