Waikit Lau has a diverse and extensive work experience. Waikit is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of RemoteHQ, a company that provides a virtual workspace to facilitate collaboration for distributed teams. Waikit started this role in November 2017.

Prior to RemoteHQ, Waikit served as an Advisor and Investor across various companies in the technology sector, including Ginkgo Bioworks, PathAI, Circle, and many others. Waikit held this role starting from July 2014.

In 2016, Waikit founded AIDL (Artificial Intelligence & Deep Learning), which is one of the largest and most active communities in the field. Waikit managed the community and published a popular newsletter on AI.

From December 2010 to October 2013, Waikit worked at Magnite, where they served as the Head of Business and Corporate Development, as well as a board member. Waikit played a key role in the company's growth and was responsible for partnerships, corporate development, international expansion, and emerging channels.

Before Magnite, Waikit co-founded ScanScout in March 2006 and held the positions of President and CEO. Under their leadership, ScanScout developed a machine learning-based platform for online video indexing and ad serving, achieving annual revenues of $18 million. Later, the company merged with another and became Magnite.

Other notable experiences include working as the Director of Strategy and Business Development at Scientific Atlanta, a division of Cisco, where they contributed to the development of a set-top box platform for linear TV. Waikit also served as a Consultant to the CTO and COO of Technology at Merrill Lynch, evaluating vendors in infrastructure space.

Furthermore, they worked as a Consultant at JAFCO America Ventures, where they helped rebuild the team and infrastructure of the US venture arm. Waikit also gained valuable experience as an Investor at Bessemer Venture Partners.

Waikit's career began as a Co-founder and VP of Business and Product Development at Photo.net, which was later acquired by GoDaddy. Waikit played an instrumental role in growing the company into one of the largest photo databases catering to high-end photographers.

Throughout their career, Waikit has demonstrated expertise in business and corporate development, strategic planning, investment evaluation, and building and scaling technology-focused companies.

Waikit Lau attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1993 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. Waikit'sareas of study included Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Finance. Following this, they pursued further education at Harvard Business School from 2003 to 2005 and earned their Master of Business Administration degree.
