Sara Hopkins has over 30 years of experience in the education field. Sara began their career in 1990 as a Kindergarten Teacher in the Columbia County Board of Education. Sara then worked as an Early Childhood Educator in the Magnet School Taylor County Schools from 1994 to 1995. From 1996 to 2000, they served as an Educator in the Blake Montessori School, teaching Montessori Science, Math, and Literacy. In 2000, they joined the Mandarin Presbyterian School as an Educator for Pre-K and Kindergarten. Sara then worked as a Consultant in Testing and Measurement from 2001 to 2008. In 2008, they became an Educator for Elementary Latin in Keystone Learning Academy. Sara then moved to Walden School of Liberal Arts in 2009, where they were involved in Elementary Curriculum Design. From 2010 to 2015, they worked at Mountainville Academy as an Educator, Team Lead, and Classroom Technology Innovator. In 2015, they joined Renaissance Academy as the Director of Gifted and Talented Education and STEM Science Collaboration, where they worked until 2017. Since 2017, Sara has been serving as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in IDEA Academy.

Sara Hopkins has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching, with a focus on Early Childhood, from the University of Florida, which they obtained from 1988 to 1990. Sara also has a Preschool Intervention Networking Certificate in Early Childhood Exceptionalities and Intervention from the University of Florida, which they obtained in 1989.

In addition, Sara holds a Certificate in Bully Prevention in Education from the University of North Florida, obtained in 1989, and a Certificate in Web Quests from the same institution, also obtained in 1989.

Sara has further certifications, including a Teaching License (Level 2) in Elementary Education and Early Childhood from the State of Utah, which they obtained in June 2012. Sara also has certifications in Praxis II® Subject Assessments and Praxis® Core Academic Skills for Educators (Core) from the State of Utah, although the exact dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
