Renaissance Parquet was founded in 2005 by Hans Unger, whose connection to timber spans generations.

Hans began his career working alongside his father, Hans Unger Senior of Caulfield Floors, learning the craft during school holidays as he laid and sanded floors. When Caulfield Floors closed in 2004, Hans saw an opportunity to continue the family legacy and establish Renaissance Parquet — a company dedicated to creating exceptional, feature-quality timber flooring.

Wood has been part of the Unger heritage for nearly a century. Originating in Europe, the family operated mills and joinery businesses dating back to the early 1800s. That legacy continues today.

Based in Melbourne and servicing clients worldwide, Renaissance Parquet specialises in French Oak parquetry and solid timber flooring. Our sister company, Windsor Parquet, manufactures and installs premium Australian hardwoods.

Across all projects, our focus remains the same: high-end, custom-crafted floors with no boundaries and no limits.

Our design philosophy is inspired by the historic parquetry found in French châteaux and country estates. Recreating these timeless patterns required extensive research into traditional methods, combined with modern technology. Hans travelled to Europe to learn directly from master craftsmen, ensuring authentic techniques informed every detail of our process.

What distinguishes Renaissance Parquet today is not only our unique textures and finishes, but our commitment to working closely with clients. Over the years, we’ve built strong relationships with architects, interior designers, and builders, providing a premium, end-to-end service - from informed material selection to meticulous installation.

At Renaissance Parquet, we craft floors that honour tradition, elevate design, and endure for generations.
