Dr. Selina W. Lee

Dr. Selina W. Lee is a highly experienced professional in the field of civil engineering and risk sciences, currently serving as a Senior Research Scientist and Vice President at RenaissanceRe since November 2023. Lee holds a position as a Board Trustee for the Queens Borough Public Library, appointed to represent various community districts. Additionally, Lee has been involved with the Townsend Harris Alumni Association since February 2011, holding roles such as Chairperson of the Board and Executive Co-President. Previously, Lee worked at Validus Research Inc. for over 14 years in various capacities, including Senior Research Scientist and VP, focusing on catastrophe research and model development. Lee's early career involved engineering roles at esteemed firms, including Scawthorn Porter Associates, DeSimone Consulting Engineers, and Parsons Brinckerhoff. Dr. Lee earned a PhD in Civil Engineering from Cornell University and also holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from the same institution.
