Panduranga S Rao

Dr. Rao is a Professor of Medicine in the division of Nephrology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor since 2003. He is also the program director for the nephrology fellowship. He is trained in clinical trial design and biostatistics and has worked with the USRDS and SRTR as part of his interest in outcomes research. He is also the principal investigator for the Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort Study (CRIC) at the University of Michigan, an NIH-sponsored study to examine factors for kidney disease progression and novel cardiovascular risk factors in CKD. In addition, Dr. Rao has participated in several clinical trials on glomerular diseases. Dr. Rao has been the recipient of several grants from the Renal Research Institute to look at novel methods of assessing fluid overloads in patients on dialysis.
